Projects

Global Television/Shaw Media

Project Manage and develop a national safety program for remote news gathering units – Microwave and Satellite transmission vehicles. Based on Canada Labour Code and industry practice, the program was set up to surpass those standards and engage operators, technicians and non-technical users.

Working in concert with Shaw Media and Global Television personnel, we developed a nationally based safety program and training package for all who work with, on or direct the use of “live” trucks to bring us the news each day. The challenge to elevate and unify the safety program standards for the stations and talented people across the country is exciting. Roll out of the program was followed by training local Subject Matter Experts to conduct training and maintenance of the plan at each station.

K-3 Mosaic Potash

A new mine site in Esterhazy, SK. Our client was contracted to install a structural underground waterproofing system that had been used once previously in the world – at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai.  As well as developing an overall Safety Plan, Daelight was tasked with creating safe work practices and procedures for a product and methodology new to North America.

Re-energize an existing Safety program – At one of a national client’s more profitable branches, the WCB incident rating was very high at 6.2. We were able to successfully reduce that rating to 2.8 over the course of a year by engaging management and front line workers in taking ownership and responsibility for their safety and the program.

Kitimat Revitalization Project

Contracted to guide a commercial roofing team through the elevated intricacies and requirements of an industrial construction site. The 50 year old smelter continued to operate as the new structures grew around the site.  The team won a safety award from the site owner and general contractor.

Habitat for Humanity

Working with the organization since 2009, it has been our privilege to assist in the review and revising of the Safety Program and manual for the Manitoba chapter. During blitz builds, we have been on site, assisting the staff and coaching the volunteers on site each day.  Always being aware of the line between enthusiasm and knowledge, we have developed procedures for construction techniques that all levels can understand.
